In April 2013, I met Dr. Marco Castellazzi, which is also my Personal Doctor for the first time for consulting about my increasing weight having a weight of 192 Kg. Dr. Marco motivated and encouraged me that he can help me in reducing my weight and try to save me from further many more problems in future. He suggested me some products from THERASCIENCE, as THERASCIENCE was the company that have many more products, it was looking easy to reduce my weight by following the diet plan from my doctor, and the THERASCIENCE products were the best solution for starting diet. The reason being best solution was that you could choose products depending upon your choice and taste.
I started the diet products following the instructions from Dr. Castellazzi and it was going well. Showed some positive results and reducing my weight from 192 kg to 178 kg (reducing 14 kg). But it was too slow process, and I was having a problem with this diet that going daily to university, I couldn’t able to maintain and prepare my diet while staying for hours in university. Therefore, having problems with diet and preparation of products broke up my courage and the weight started increasing again.
In October 2014, I have some problem in my knee, due to which I was not able to walk due to that I remained in home for months and again my weight started increasing more rapidly. At last in February 2015, my weight reached 198 kg, because of not able to move and staying in home as I was gaining weight day by day.
In the End of 2015, I visited Dr. Castellazzi clinic as I was having skin problems due to staying for long time in bed and waiting for doctor appointments for my knee treatment. Dr. Castellazzi was very worried about my gaining weight and he tried his best to find some alternate solution. One fine day, I receive an email from Dr. Castellazzi informing me about San Luca Clinic.
I booked an appointment in San Luca Clinic on 20th of January 2016 when my weight reached 220 Kg. I visited the clinic where I met Dr. G.M. Rovera and with the help of Dr. Rovera, I got a chance to go to San Luca Clinic on 25th of January 2016 for staying until 29th of January 2016 for complete Examinations and Analysis.
I remained in San Luca Clinic where all the staff was too caring, guided me about Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery, and recommended to go before surgery to Ponte San Pietro Hospital for Rehabilitation for 21 days prior to the Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery.
On 12th of February 2016, I reached Ponte San Pietro Hospital where I remained until 2nd of March 2016. During this stay, all my diet was closely observed and found that in this period, I reduced 2 to 3 kgs of weight by following diet plan and exercise, which was a very slow process, as my weight was too much and it would be more time consuming to reach the target, by following diet plan.
Finally, I got an appointment for Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery on 21st of March 2016, which was a turning point and a special day in my life. I stayed for two weeks after the surgery, and finally came back to home on 2nd of April 2016. During this period, my weight was reducing more rapidly.
After the surgery, I used Liquids, semi-Liquids, semi- solid and then finally Solid diets for two weeks each. After this period, I followed a diet plan given by a dietician.
In the follow up visits after surgery, my blood exams got checked and concluded; weight reduction is going well and advised to start exercise after the second follow up visit. Now, After one year since starting my treatment I am happy, that I reduced my weight initially starting from 220 kg to 168 Kg. (52 kg) which was not possible by only following the diet plan. Now having a new hope to live, I am more encouraged and proud that I have reduced such a big part of my weight and still I have more motivation to reach my target more happily and sooner.
All my family and friends are also happy for me. At this time, I would also mention all the medical staff, doctors, nurses, friends, family and everyone that supported me in this one-year journey and encouraged me to think about myself. Although I am not able to mention names of each and everyone here, but my prayers and well wishes are with all those people who were there to help me.
